Darlene Schanzmeyer signing in! I’ve pretty much been hanging around St. Joe my whole life. Grades 1-8 as a student, subbed during college and came back as soon as I graduated from Lincoln University in Jefferson City. I’ve taught fourth, first and second grade. This year I’m going to be part-time resource teacher in the middle school building, which is a new experience for me! 

I have a daughter, Kathryn, who lives next door to us in the house she grew up in, with her husband, David. They have a rambunctious, smiley daughter, Louise, who will be turning one in August. My son lives in Raymore (KC) with his wife, Samantha, and my other two grandbabies, Emmett and Rosalynn. They are also very rambunctious and love to come visit us on the farm!

My husband and I remodeled (with little construction experience and lots of determination) and moved into a big, old farmhouse that my grandma grew up in. I bake wedding cakes, love to cook, garden, raise flowers, farm with Gary, and sit by the fire pit in my backyard.
